People are free to do what they want with their own property. It’s like finding a nice patch of land, far away from anything, and deciding to use it for your summer vacation. No one’s used the land for decades, so you set up your tent one year, maybe bring a small trailer the next, put in a firepit within a few years, and soon it feels like ‘your’ summer place. It doesn’t matter – no one’s been around for years and you’re not bothering anyone. Then one day, the owners from far away, maybe down in the southern U.S. decide to sell the land to a group that’s going to put condos up. And there’s nothing you can do about it because it’s not yours.

Your solution – and I believe I’ve been telling you this for years – is to start your own website with your own IP address. You have things to share with people and you should give yourself a secure facility in which to do that. Your own website would be yours to do with what you want for as long as you want. Wouldn’t 10 or 20 bucks a month be worth it for that ability ?? Simple websites with just text, pictures, mp3’s and videos are easy to run and rather inexpensive. And once you’ve taken the time to post it, you’ll never lose it.

D. Berryman
Hamilton, ONAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
