ROB TOGNONI - CDs AND SITE CHANGES

Hi, All.

I hope the Summer or Winter, depending where you are, is kind to you.

I'm taking full advantage of the recently upgraded Google Tranlations now available, so my emails will be in English (of course) and translated German and French. It's not perfect, but it can help if English is not strong for you. Also, the website has 12 optional languages.

Ok, I've just about finished this time in Europe, but will be over again in October for a 4 week tour of the UK and Europe. I will also be doing some shows /festivals in Australia over the Christmas/New Year period (more news to come). At this stage, there is not a North American tour planned for 2009, but hopefully this can be organised for mid-year.

CDs from the website will not be available after July 22 until sometime in 2009, so if you want anything, grab it now. The Capital Wah CD has sold out at my website, but there are stocks available from Music Avenue and also many other internet stores.

That's all for now!

Take care!

Kind Regards

Rob

That's all for now! Pass auf dich auf! Salut, tous.

Cordialement

STEVE STRONGMAN @ NIAGARA RHYTHM SECTION IMPROV NIGHT

Niagara Rhythm Section and special guests

Every Saturday night 9:45ish - no cover

The Anchorage, 186 Ricardo St., Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON, 905-468-2141

This week: SAT. JULY 19TH - STEVE STRONGMAN

Beginning his professional career at the age of 16, playing clubs all around Southern Ontario, it wasn’t long until Steve Strongman caught the eye of Mississippi Blues legend Mel Brown. Under his tutelage, Steve met and played with many of the Blues legends of the time.

Strongman branched out, touring extensively with rock, country and blues bands in venues like Opryland, Renfro Valley in Kentucky and opening for Roy Clark at his theatre in Branson, Missouri. After a taste of L.A., playing with Columbia recording artist Tal Bachman, Steve chose to concentrate on his own rock band, Plasticine. With irresistible stage presence and gritty hard-driving rock & roll, Plasticine developed a devoted legion of fans and quickly garnered a record deal with the Allen Gregg venture, Song Corporation. After the demise of the ill-fated Song Corp., Steve reconsidered his own musical future. Plasticine went their separate ways and Steve was opted as lead guitar player for Epic/Sony recording artist Kazzer, leading to more touring of the United States, Canada as well as extensive tours in Europe. In between, he jammed out his blues solo act in venues all around Southern Ontario.

But the Blues were calling louder and Strongman, drawn back to the style that first spoke to him, made a natural and resolute decision to answer. And so, twenty years later, and in a return to his roots, 2007 sees Strongman proudly presenting Honey, his fifth release. This is an album that offers a seamless blend of old school and new originals that heralds the arrival of Canada’s newest Blues sensation. With nine originals on the 11-song playlist, Strongman guides the feel and flow with ease and this ultra-cool musical gem is a high-caliber work paving new ground with its pace changes, dynamics, atmosphere, melody, tricky riffs and mind-blowing gritty, greasy blues.

With a rock-solid command of guitar technique and innate artistry, Strongman generates a dynamic and powerful energy on stage and delivers stirring performances that captivate his audiences. He has shared the stage and bills with a range of musical who’s-who from young rockers like Tal Bachman and Kazzer to Kim Wilson, James Harmon, Luther Tucker, Duke Robillard, Ronnie Earl, Roy Clark, Otis Clay, Jeff Healey and Watermelon Slim, just to name a few.

Already capturing industry attention, the Toronto Blues Society lists Honey in the top blues selections for May 2007, and he took top honours in three categories of View Magazine’s “Best Music of 2007”, including “Best Local Male Artist”.

Steve's latest coup has him snagging a nomination for "Best New Artist" for the 11th Annual Maple Blues Awards held on January 21, 2008, in Toronto. Another thrill for Strongman is garnering four nominations from the 2007 Hamilton Music Awards’ panel, including: Guitarist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Blues Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.

The Niagara Rhythm Section is looking forward to his debut performance here at the Anchorage this Saturday night!
