MUSIC NEWS NASHVILLE, VOL. 4, ISSUE 26 - SEPT. 28/09

Newsletter For September 28, 2009

Volume 4 Issue 26

Good morning...

A note from Dan...

This is the week I will be under the knife for my cancer surgery. I will be entering the VA Medical Center in Decatur (Atlanta) GA at 6:00am on Thursday morning. I will be in the hospital for six days on the 9th floor (not sure of a room number). I would welcome anyone stopping by if you are close to the area... and send chocolate in lieu of flowers!

I want to thank everyone who has sent their thoughts and prayers my way. I definitely need them all. This is a scary time of life for me, but I AM going to overcome the situation and make it through the other side.

I would also like to thank MusiCares for the assistance they are providing. This worthy organization has not only helped me but a number of other industry people that I know. I would like to ask you to donate to them if you have time. To do so, visit my donations page. To go straight there, CLICK HERE

My family will be providing periodic updates on my facebook page about my situation, and a friend will be sending out emails on my behalf while I am unable to do so. Additionally, Music News Nashville's LATEST NEWS will continue being updated, and I would like to thank Jaimie and Kyra for their help.

I appreciate my friends and family and am thankful for all. I will be back... and better than ever.

That said... There is new information, news, CD reviews and more on the Music News Nashville website. CLICK HERE to go directly there.

TOO SLIM & THE TAILDRAGGERS NEWSLETTER (SEPT. 24)

Too Slim and the Taildraggers Newsletter
Fall Events
September 2009

Greetings!

Every fall I reflect the long summer days and am always amazed at how quickly the lazy days of summer go! I always muse that I am going to have more times like Mungo Jerry's song "In the Summer Time". I guess I was meant to work for a musician!! This summer was quite fun with lots of music, which couldn't be better, but I am sad to say it is over!
Too Slim and the Taildraggers have had a very eventful year, lots of changes. Love Polly and Tommy and Peter too... I hope you can make it out to a show and catch the new band, hear some new songs, and enjoy the fall, even though I am daydreaming of summer today.
Sincerely,

Nancy Langford

LAYLA ZOE UPDATE

Hey, everyone.

Just wanted to send a quick update with some fun new stuff that's been happening.

First off, I have recently moved to Montreal after a wonderful 2 years in Toronto. I'd like to thank the people who made my time in Toronto so special (you know who you are). I am quickly learning more French and look forward to booking some shows in Quebec in the next few months.

It was a wonderful summer touring to BC and seeing old friends, performing at Errington Hall to a sold-out crowd, singing for thousands for Canada Day on Vancouver Island, a road trip to Calgary for an amazing time at "Femme Fatale 4" show, getting tattooed by friends, partying with Derek Trucks band and Zappa plays Zappa band, and being flown to Germany TWICE for great festivals! It was simply an awesome summer, and nearly helped me completely forget I was dealing with a broken foot! haha! Well, the foot is feeling better, I love my new place in Montreal, and next year is looking very promising with possible European tour!

But now for the recent news:

1. You can now follow me on TWITTER at:

2. The song "Lay your hands on me" was voted #4 out of the top 50 blues songs for 2009 on Baker Street Radio in France!

3. Crossroads magazine in France did a 4 page spread/interview with me in Sept. 09 issue.

4. Lots of amazing new videos (YOUTUBE and myspace page) and photos put up by fans in Germany, after receiving RAVE reviews in Europe. Please join the Layla Zoe fanpage on facebook or add me as a friend on myspace to see new pics, keep up with touring, news, new music and blogs.

5. New dance REMIX of "Lay your hands on me" is now on myspace player. REMIX by District Sixty Nine of Qualicum, BC
(DJ Spacebotz)
