ROCKIN' THE BLUES FROM CANADA

A cross-reference to the first overnight radio show (CKCU 93.1 FM) placing a heavy emphasis on Canadian blues and fusions of same (2007-2012). From 2012-2014, "Rockin' the Blues from Canada" was broadcast on CHMR 93.5 FM (where it originated in 2005 as "Patchwork Blues"). This 'blog' was born in 2004 as a promotional tool for arts-related news until Geocities reclaimed its free websites. See also: http://nlbluessociety.blogspot.ca

About Me

My photo
D.D. Rocker (a.k.a. Misty Blue 1955)
Ottawa, ON, Canada
I am a mother, writer, radio producer/DJ/host and currently unemployed federal government administrative assistant who has lived in Toronto, Hamilton, St. Johns, and various army bases. I have been published by to-nite, Globe and Mail, Toronto Sun, eye, WBS Bluesletter, ARTSbeat, View, Hammered Out, The Telegram, The Measure, The Nfld. HERALD, The Muse, and SW Blues. I wrote online music journals - T’OH-JAM, SEATTLE RATTLE, GREAT BIG ROCK JAM and HAMMER-JAM - on my Geocities-deleted ROCKIN' THE BLUES FROM CANADA websites. In 2006 I was nominated for two Hamilton Literary Awards. I have worked as an audio-book recorder, radio music programmer, host and DJ at CFMU 93.3 FM, and CKCU 93.1 FM. From 2012-2014, I hosted and produced "St. John's Infirmary", "Radio Kids", "Iron Maidens", and "ROCKIN' the Blues from Canada" at CHMR 93.1 FM, where I originally hosted and produced "Patchwork Blues" in 2005. Currently seeking financial motivation to return to on-air radio broadcasting. Ten years is a very long unpaid internship. February 15, 2018
