JORDAN REGINALD WELLS - IN MEMORIAM

ODE TO JORDAN

LEAP DAY 2016 TRIBUTE TO MY SON

JORDAN REGINALD WELLS
(May 22/88 - February 29/12)

Not yet twenty-four,
Never fought in a war.
School was for fools
Who followed the rules.
No doctor was he
Curing epilepsy.
Just a hard-working man
With a home-building plan.
Chased by a devil
For most of his life,
His dreams were cut short
Like a butchering knife.
The water he loved
And wanted to master
Just wouldn't be tamed
And made him go faster.
If there's an Atlantis
His soul does dwell there,
But his body's now ashes
that are going nowhere.
Many folks loved him,
And that’s not a lie.
We’ll never forget him,
And still do I cry.

Diane, that is a beautiful poem for a beautiful boy by an amazing hardworking mother. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. You still have much to live for even though he is an angel in heaven now, we old school rockers need to stick together. - Cecilia Di Benedetto, Hamilton, ON :) cdb_music@yahoo.ca

Thank you so much for your response, Cecilia, and I agree we should stick together as old-school rockers. Hopefully one day soon I WILL find my 'mojo' again. I hope all is going well in your life. If you ever plan to come to St. John's, get in touch with me, okay?
