Way back in the early 90's while on a gig backing-up a female vocalist, I was fortunate enough to meet guitarist Eric Mahar and drummer Dave Norris, who were the other members of the back-up band that night. A few years later, when I first moved to NOTL and didn't really know any of the wonderful local musicians, these were the two guys I always called to come out from Toronto and environs and play music with me. As time went on, we became known as "Fringe Locals" and the band expanded, adding local keyboard wizard, Herb Nelson, drum maven, Penner MacKay and the many other great Niagara musicians that have been part of our collective over the years. Anyway, if you've never seen Eric live, he's an amazing, unusual guitarist and a wonderful singer. Herb is soulful and innovative keyboard player. It has been quite a while since the original five of us have all been together, so this Saturday is bound to be a fun reunion with our good pals Eric and Herb.
