NEW YEAR'S EVE IN NOTL WITH THE NIAGARA RHYTHM SECTION

Where: The Anchorage, 186 Ricardo St. Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON, 905-468-2141

When: 10 pm - ??

Merry Christmas, boys and girls.

New Year's Eve is almost upon us and if you haven't already made plans, I urge you to get your tickets while they're still available for the place to be in NOTL, the 2nd annual, NEW YEAR'S EVE AT THE ANCHORAGE WITH THE NIAGARA RHYTHM SECTION.

Our special guest is the legendary keyboard player Denis Keldie. As a studio musician, Denis Keldie has over a hundred albums to his credit, as well as numerous film and TV projects. Recent CD's include Rita Coolidge with Ry Cooder, Natalie MacMaster, Jeff Healey, Prairie Oyster, The Boomers, Eddie Schwartz, Jesse Cook, Stompin' Tom Connors, The Lincolns, The Extras, King Biscuit Boy, The Stampeders, Gordie Sampson, Etta James, and TV and live appearances with The Rankins, The Lincolns, Colin James, Jann Arden, Amy Sky, Ashley MacIsaac, Bruce Guthro, Crowbar and many others. He knows a million songs, and last year the dance floor was packed all night long! And on top of all that, he's a really nice and funny guy!

Also joining us will be winemaker and percussionist Sandra Marynissen and perhaps some other surprise guests. The rest the band will be our usual group of crazy guys, including the amazing Steve Grisbrook on guitar, the very appealing Herb Nelson on keyboards, the silver-haired devil Penner MacKay on percussion, Dangerous Dave Norris on drums and little old me on bass. How can you go wrong with a band that has three drummers and two keyboard players?

Tickets are going fast and we were sold out last year. The show starts at 10 pm and champagne at midnight is included in the ticket price. It was a wonderful evening of great songs, dancing and good friends, so give the Anchorage a call and reserve now! 904-468-2141.

So, in the spirit of the holiday season, I wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and I hope we can celebrate the end of 07 and the start of 08 together.

AFTER 4 YEARS, WE'RE STILL NOTL'S BEST KEPT SECRET!

It's true. People still say to me, "There's music at the Anchorage?" Go figure. I guess you could say that those folks who come out on a regular basis are part of an exclusive club. And, don't get me wrong - while we'd like the place to be packed every single Saturday night, it's kind of fun when people show up for the first time and have such a good time. So you're welcome to tell your friends about our regular little shindig, but it's ok to just keep it to yourself if that's what you want.
