About the Violet Femmes CD compilation project

Violet Femmes is a compilation CD featuring 18 talented women from around the world. There is rock, new age, singer/songwriter, pop and more. The music is as diverse as the soil these women spring from. This CD is a gathering of strong women artists of all ages and from all walks of life.

Pam Southwell and RPW Records, the creators of the project, have been hosting showcases in Vancouver to promote and support the women on the CD. November saw Emma Ninel from Denmark and Beth Southwell perform at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre. In March, Adriana Lorenzi traveled from Venuezuela to perform alongside Toronto’s Laura Aidanblaise at the Firehall Arts Centre.

RPW Records also supports women artists not on the compilation, and Kola Collective were also featured at the March show. Australia’s The Jilted Brides have been added to the May 17th Libra Room Showcase as a special feature.
