HARMONICA BLUES WORKSHOPS W/ STEVE BAILEY & WARREN MURRAY

Greetings!

The Washington Blues Society would like to pass along this great opportunity to its members …

A six session, Harmonica Blues Workshop will begin on Thursday, 10.22.09, at N-Time Music Productions in Renton, WA, where Steve Bailey & Warren "Delta Blues" Murray, will teach two skill levels of Blues Harmonica: Beginner and Intermediate.

Steve Bailey is truly a Northwest Blues Pioneer, starting his Seattle performing career in the late 1960s. Bailey was a mainstay of the original Public Market Blues scene, and the list of musicians that have played in his bands reads like a who's who of the Northwest Blues. A triple-threat performer on vocals, guitar, and harp, Bailey is also an accomplished songwriter, as well as running his own recording studio. Bailey's recordings with The Blue Flames took him on multiple tours to Europe and Japan, and he was the mastermind behind the international hit album, Northwest Harmonica Showcase. Steve is currently a member of the Crossroads band, which took home the "Best Band" award at the 2009 “Best of The Blues” Award Dinner.

Warren “Delta Blues" Murray is a Delta Style Blues performer and teacher and began playing the guitar at age twelve. By the time he was fifteen years old, he had his own band, consisting of bass, drums, rhythm and lead guitars, and they played local parties. By the time he reached twenty, he had achieved the status of a published and recorded songwriter. Warren went on to university-level in music studies and received a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with an emphasis on music composition. Warren's twenty years of experience playing the blues harp in his style of music has qualified him to author The Blues Harmonica Workshop Book. The Blues Harmonica Workshop Book was written with Northwest harp legend Dick Powell.

Harmonica instruction will be done using Steve Bailey's "STEP BY STEP'' Blues Harmonica Book with CD. The Book and CD are included in the cost of the Workshop. The teaching will also include many personal ''harmonica playing examples'' by both Steve Bailey and Warren Murray that will show you how to "Apply'' the Harmonica to Blues Tunes. You'll learn to do inspiring Harmonica solos.
