SINGING/SONGWRITING WITH LYNN MILES

The Compete Singer/Songwriter Package with Lynn Miles.

Classes will take place one hour a week for four weeks and will consist of no more than five people. We will focus on all aspects of what it takes to be a singer/songwriter: Song Structure, Melody, Style, Rhythm, Intention, Delivery and Presentation, Voice Instruction, Instrumentation, Performance Skills and more.

4 weeks – Tuesdays, October 9, 16, 23 and 30 – from 5:30-6:30 pm or 6:30-7:30 pm

Fee: $100 for Ottawa Folklore Centre members; $120 for non-members

Lynn Miles is a True North Records recording artist who has written over 500 hundred songs. She tours throughout North America and Europe. Lynn won a Juno Award in 2002 for her CD, Unravel, was nominated again for a Juno in 2003, and won two Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2005 for "Best Singer" and "Best Songwriter". Lynn was a staff songwriter for Los Angeles- and Nashville-based Criterion Music Corporation for seven years. She has taught many classes at the Ottawa Folklore Centre, and, long ago, Alanis Morrissette was one of her voice students. Lynn is working on a new CD to be released in Spring 2008.
