2ND ANNUAL MT. RAINIER MUSIC FESTIVAL - APR. 4-6 (MINERAL, WA)
The 2nd annual Mt. Rainier Music Festival, a 3 day indoor benefit concert for Mt. Rainier National Park, will take place April 4th, 5th and 6th, 2008, at the Mineral Lake Event Center in beautiful Mineral, WA.
This 3 day event will feature 25 bands with over 100 musicians on 2 indoor stages, along with some of the top NW food vendors, wineries, breweries and artist booths on hand. There will be silent auctions and raffle items all weekend long, with all proceeds going to Mt. Rainier National Park.
The national park and its hiking trails have not yet fully recovered from the November 2006 devastating floods and still needs our help. There are camping spots, RV spots, hot indoor showers and a huge working fire pit, all on site. Plenty of nearby lodging available, as well.
Mineral Lake itself is right across the street from the event center. Located at the foot of Mt. Rainier and only 90 minutes or less from most major metropolitan areas in Western,WA, Portland,OR, and the Yakima Valley, Mineral, WA, is the perfect location to bring together music lovers and national park supporters from all over the NW region.
The first such event last year in March of 2007 was a huge success, so we have decided to make it an annual event and one of the first major multi day music festivals of the year in the NW region.
This 3 day event kicks off on Friday, April 5th, at 5 p.m. and goes until the cows come home on Sunday evening, April 6th. There will be over 27 scheduled musical performances throughout the weekend and nightly jam sessions. All musicains are welcome to participate in these Jam sessions.
In addition to the nightly jams on Friday and Saturday, the grand finale "Mt. Rainier Mega Jam session" will take place on Sunday evening. Last year's grand finale jam session included over 55 musicians and hundreds of festival participants who vowed to call in late for work on Monday morning or to just take Monday off to recover.
In case of really nice weather, the main stage could be moved outdoors. The Mineral Lake Event Center is a indoor/outdoor facility.
