Whether at Montreal’s International Jazz Festival, at Montreal’s or Sutton’s Festiblues, at the Bistro à Jojo or as the opening show for the Jeff Healey Band, this trio of Heavy Blues, Rockabilly, Soul and Rock ‘n’ Roll with a little of Johnny Cash’s colors, does not aim at making a revolution on the Blues scene but rather at passing on its passion for the Blues; and it works every time. Their first album in 2005 was such an unexpected hit with their public that they started working on the second right away. They say that it’s a sharp picture of them but with stronger Blues Roots. So, this new album brings us the results of a studio Jam Session, together with members of Vilain Pingouin, original and new casts, also with Kim Richardson, Rick Hayworth, Nicolas Piguet of the Blues Berry Jam, as well as many others. A more rooted sound, more traditional and less rocky for the instruments, as well as for the singing; and always that good old blues basis that built Riot & His Rhythm Devils.
