"Rez Bluez" returnz to the Aboriginal People's Television Network

This coming weekend, on Saturday, November 10, at 7 pm ET/PT on the Aboriginal People's Television Network, REZ BLUEZ returns for its second season!

The first show of the second season of "REZ BLUEZ II" is hosted by Michaela Washburn and features 2 phenomenal blues acts and 2 comedians. This past year Michaela was host of CBC’s "Hockeyville" and performed in a number of theatre productions. Our comedy segments feature 2 cutting-edge comedians - Drew Lacapa & Skeena Reece.

Drew Lacapa is from Fort Apache Reservation in Arizona and has made his rounds throughout Indian Country.

We’re also joined by multi-disciplinarian artist, and always amazing, Skeena Reece from Vancouver, British Columbia.

Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Isaac Mandamin & South Thunderbird are back this season with new bluez tunez with some heavy guitar grooves to share with you all.

Isaac’s home is the Whitedog Ojibway Rez in northwestern Ontario. It was when he first heard Stevie Ray Vaughan that he knew he wanted to play the blues.

South Thunderbird has been nominated for national awards - Western Canadian Music Awards, Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards, and Aboriginal People's Music Choice Awards. They won Best New Artist at the 2005 Winnipeg Blues Awards.

We proudly introduce the Canadian television debut of The Plateros, from New Mexico, a Navajo family trio, headed by 15 year-old guitar prodigy Levi Platero, whose performance is not to be missed! The Plateros are a family band, with Murphy Platero on guitar and vocals, his son, Levi Platero, on guitar and vocals, and cousin, Douglas Platero, on drums.

This well-played trio has been playing festivals in the southwest for years. With their enlightened blues, they are a mainstay on Christian blues radio programs.
