MONEY FOR DRUGS @ WINTERFLOCK IV (TORONTO) - THURS., FEB. 7

Yes, it’s true: I’m hoping that my WinterFlock IV show this Thurs., Feb. 7, at Renaissance Café [in Toronto] will make me some money so I can buy drugs! It still feels weird, though, buying them across a counter with other people casually standing around and sometimes openly lining up to get their fixes from the local pharmacist … but that’s the new reality since my doctors told me I had to make some serious lifestyle changes in order to keep breathing, let alone functioning effectively.

The good news is the eight different meds that I do to keep things under control are the best drugs I’ve ever had, making me feel way better than any of the stuff I used to buy in bars or back alleys! Of course, they’re just as expensive —in fact a little more expensive— but worth every penny to me.

Anyways, I’m hoping that there’ll be enough people paying the $5 cover charge at my WinterFlock show to help with buying the next round of meds, which comes up in a couple of weeks. At least I know that there’s plenty of incentive for folks to do so, because I have a superb lineup of talent confirmed, with no doubt others stopping in as surprise guests.

Here’s the lineup with scheduled times at the moment:

It’s fully licensed, has a great selection of microbrews and imports in bottles and on tap, full stock of liquors, a selection of house-roasted and ground gourmet coffees and some interesting teas, a delightful and nourishing menu with reasonable prices and enough tempting desserts that you may as well bring your sweet tooth along. Hope to see you there!
