Celebrate International Women’s Month with an evening of women’s music blending the sounds of many cultures. This is the second in a series of showcase concerts featuring the artists on VIOLET FEMMES VOL 1, a CD compilation of women artists from around the world. We support and promote great women artists and thus also involve some of our amazing local talent in our events. Venezuela’s Adriana Lorenzi will be performing her unique brand of pop/rock in an acoustic set. You can see her videos and hear her music at http://www.myspace.com/adrianalorenzi

Toronto’s Laura Aidanblaise comes to us armed with stark instrumentation, a soulful voice, and lyrics taken from that mysterious middle ground where heart, mind, and soul intersect, Laura Aidenblaise is a unique talent with much to offer the world of music. http://www.myspace.com/lauraaidanblaise

Vancouver’s Kola Collective began as a modern folk trio, blending Roma (central European gypsy) music, funk beats and Latin American melodies and lyrics. The band soon expanded to include a Latin rhythm section and Spanish guitars. They quickly became an amalgamation of world rhythms, languages and styles.
