With over 30 years professional experience in the music biz, Maureen Brown has performed and/or recorded with international artists such as Kim Wilson (Fabulous Thunderbirds), Richie Hayward (Little Feat), Otis Rush, John Hammond, Jeff Healey, Watermelon Slim, Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne, Fiona Boyes, Ian Thomas and all The Boomers, as well as local artists, Trouble & Strife, Chris and Ken Whiteley, Jack DeKeyzer, Donnie Walsh, Hock Walsh, and Michael Pickett, to name a few.
Moe has been awarded Canada's BLUES DRUMMER OF THE YEAR 4X, nominated for FEMALE BLUES VOCALIST OF THE YEAR 3X and Maureen Brown & Big Hand, won New Blues Talent Search, representing Canada at the W.C. Handy International Blues Search 1994. She has also trained on all percussion and was a member of the Edmonton Philharmonic Orchestra. She's a card-carrying ACTRA member ...you may have seen her in "Night Owl", or another movie...or maybe you have heard some of her music on T.V.? Moe is also an artist, mainly focusing on watercolours and pen and ink, with plans for her own show.
Maureen has 3 bands: The Maureen Brown Band, her blues-based trio/quartet, The Tulips, her 4-piece, all-female quartet, Maureen Brown & Big Hand, 9-piece award-winning New Orleans- inspired party band. She also freelances on drums, percussion & vocals and plays a "female" washboard.
