Northport NY – Cyril Neville will be on the road supporting his first release in eight years, Brand New Blues. The new recording will be out on April 7
. Half the songs on Brand New Blues are original material co-written by Cyril with the perspective of an outspoken advocate, from his work with Amnesty International on Human Rights to the plight of Louisiana’s dissipating Wetlands. The new release churns up a lifetime of musical influences & passions; blues, funk and soul. Producer/musician Brian J of The Pimps of Joytime is at the helm of most production chores by playing most of the instruments to recording and writing with Cyril. A barrage of support appears on the record from family and friends who help Cyril achieve his vision of what is “Brand New Blues.” Guest appearances include brother and fellow Meter Art Neville (Organ) Ivan Neville (Organ), Ian Neville (Guitar), Tab Benoit (Guitar), Waylon Thibodeaux (Washboard) and Jumpin’ Johnny Sansone on harmonica The sessions were recorded in Brooklyn NY, Austin TX, Houma LA & New Orleans LA.
“There is no one in the entire world more soulful. Nor is anyone more serious about their calling. With a heart full of love and concern, which are ever, present. Cyril Neville is a beautiful treasured gift of the garden.
And I am glad to say, my friend.

Allen Toussaint

Shout Sister Shout (Rachel Davis & Steppin In It) has just recorded a
wonderful interview for John Platt's Sunday Morning Breakfast on WFUV. That interview/performance should air sometime in the Spring. This Monday, March 16 Shout comes to Lexington KY to tape a performance/interview for the syndicated radio program Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour. That show will air later in the Spring as well. If you can't wait to hear the show, you can catch the performance live at 7pm EDT via a webcast, http://www.woodsongs.com/webcast.htm
The new CD Hit That Jive will be released on April 7. Shout is comprised of Rachel Davis on lead vocals with the band Steppin’ In It providing the musical backing. The Lansing Michigan based Shout Sister Shout focuses on old-time American Jazz featuring torch swing numbers alongside bluesy ballads.
“The quintet is a tribute to the smoky, sophisticated sound of 1930s and '40s jazz, with plenty of influence from Cole Porter, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole Trio and Sarah Vaughan, and it's a trip to hear Davis channel those old greats. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have a bunch of guys playing the hell out of vintage instruments as backup.” The Metro Times- Detroit,MI
