Returning from successful headlining tour of Europe, including dates in Germany and Belgium and a festival in Scotland, Canada’s celebrated female roots/folk duo Madison Violet are set to celebrate the release of their new album No Fool For Trying at The Blacksheep Inn August 2nd.
Combining the talent of two accomplished songwriter/musicians - Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac, the duo released two previous albums under the name Madviolet; their first album, Worry The Jury garnered a handful of ECMA award nominations including 'Best New Group' and 'Pop Album of the Year'. Caravan, their sophomore release, went towards a more alt-country direction, which garnered them two ECMA awards nominations in the 'Folk album of the Year' and 'Best Group Recording' categories as well as a Canadian Folk Award nomination as 'Vocal Group of the year'. Now recording and touring as Madison Violet, the hard-working girls have toured all over Canada, Europe and Australia supporting artists such as Ron Sexsmith, Chantal Kreviazuk, The Indigo Girls and Scottish folk rock band Runrig.
No Fool For Trying proves to be an exciting collection of catchy, heart-melting, gut-wrenching songs produced in Toronto by Les Cooper and is already receiving rave reviews in Europe, spins on national radio stations in Germany where it was released last month, and BBC 1 in the UK.
