NEW JEFF HEALEY CD FROM STONY PLAIN RECORDS (JULY 28)

Stony Plain Records to release new Jeff Healey CD, Songs From The Road.

Record drops next week (July 28).

Jeff Healey was a unique guitarist, a fine singer, and a man with a warm-hearted stage presence; he made friends everywhere he went. Stony Plain, the Edmonton-based independent record company (distributed in Canada by Warner Music) will release a new CD of live performances next week, titled Songs from the Road.

The music was recorded at the famed Nottoden Blues Festival in Norway, a concert in London England, and from the now defunct Jeff Healey Roadhouse in Toronto. This is the follow-up to the award-winning Mess of Blues album, which was released only weeks after Jeff’s untimely death in March last year.

Songs from the Road, like Mess of Blues, is being distributed internationally by the German company, Ruf Records.

The new CD boasts a wide range of material, from hard Chicago blues to a taste of psychedelia to classic pop songs including “Teach Your Children Well,” “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” and a new version of Jeff’s own world-wide hit, “Angel Eyes.”

The album is enthusiastically endorsed by Jeff’s family (there’s a sleeve note from his wife, Cristie Healey), and includes a guest appearance from another Canadian guitar ace, Randy Bachman.

Jeff Healey’s legacy lives on!
