LITTLE MISS HIGGINS RETURNS EAST

Okay, my wife, Anya Wilson, and I work with this act, so I'm a tad biased. But Little Miss Higgins is incredible. When she played Hugh's Room in March, it was on the evening of one of the worst snowstorms in Toronto's history. Still, the show went on and much to my surprise--and the surprise of promoter Richard Flohil (bless his soul) -- over 100 people turned up for a raucous show. Little Miss Higgins Returns East


Throughout August, Saskatchewan's Little Miss Higgins will be kicking up her heels in Ontario by taking the stage at several venues for a second time and at a number of new stages at summer festivals.

This includes two Toronto dates:

Little Miss Higgins, who hails from Nokomis, Sask., is having a spectacular year that has been filled with bookings from across the country and a handful of honours for her country blues album, Junction City. The critically acclaimed album was recently nominated for a 2008 West Coast Music Award for Outstanding Blues Recording. The recording was also nominated in the "Blues Album of the Year" category for the 2008 Juno Awards.

The five-foot-two singer/guitarist won the "Favourite Blues Artist/Group or Duo of the Year" category of the 8th Annual Indies Awards held in Toronto March 8, 2008, during Canadian Music Week.

After touring extensively this summer, including appearing with guitarist Foy Taylor on festival stages in Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montreal and Canso, Nova Scotia, Little Miss Higgins (aka Jolene Higgins) is being hailed by many music fans and media figures as Canada’s “must see artist.”
