JUNO Award Winner Serena Ryder Featured on Music For Coffee Beings Volume 3, a compilation bringing the music of original artists to the Canadian coffee lover.
INDEPENDENT MUSIC PLAYING IN COFFEE SHOPS ACROSS CANADA
MUSIC FOR COFFEE BEINGS is a compilation CD put together by RPW Records and Magic Puddle Productions, featuring JUNO Award winner Serena Ryder along with Danielle French, Heather Haley, and other talented original artists from Canada and beyond.This is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at getting original music heard by customers in coffee shops across Canada. Magic Puddle's Pam Southwell has contacted 1,000 coffee shops across the country to ensure they played CDs or upload songs onto their iPods etc for their customers' listening enjoyment. Once this list was completed, Magic Puddle then sends out 1,000 FREE Music For Coffee Beings CDs to the 1,000 coffee shops along with 20,000 full colour brochures with info on the participating artists, links to their website, etc. The goal is to get airplay to a wide demographic of the Canadian public.
The Music For Coffee Beings CD is not for sale, but purely for the promotion of the participating artists through cafe airplay. We are celebrating the release of Volume 3 and future Volumes will be released every 3 months. This means new releases from up and coming artists can be promoted via this compilation series. Each track will be availablefor online listening at http://www.musicforcoffeebeings.com/ along with artist info and links to the artists websites. Each volume is archived and kept on the site as new volumes are added.
Past volumes featured WCMA winners and nominees, Joel Kroeker, Kat Danser and Kim Beggs, and Isobel Gunn from Ottawa, who were given an Honourable Mention in the International Song Contest. Music For Coffee Beings is produced by Magic Puddle Productions, owners of RPW Records. Magic Puddle Productions has a long history of passionately promoting and supporting independent artists through concert promotions, participation in festivals, tour promotion, and record/video production. Music For Coffee Beings is a new project- a compilation CD of original music. The goal is to showcase original music from the best emerging and established artists from Canada. Bands new to touring in Canada are also welcome to apply as a means to developing a fan base here. The CD will not be for sale and will only be available from Music For Coffee Beings to selected cafes and coffee shops. The CD will be distributed to 1000 selected coffee shops and cafes in the major regional capitals and centers throughout Canada. This is an ongoing series. As future compilations are created and released over time, Magic Puddle's network of cafes will build a library of the latest and greatest Canadian music.
