NIAGARA RHYTHM SECTION - GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS

Ok, the bad news first. Looks like our days at the Anchorage are numbered. As a matter of fact, November 1st will be our "Last Shuffle". This means there's less than three months of Saturday night shows left. We've been so lucky to have the Anchorage put up with us for five long years, and truthfully, who knows where the NRS will end up when it's all over. We may find a new home in NOTL [Niagara-on-the-Lake] if we can, but truthfully, how many venues are there that would support such an endeavour?

So, this could be your last chance to hear some of the greatest and most diverse artists from all over Ontario. So don't put it off until next week! Come early and come often! The good news is that our Live at the Anchorage, Volume 2.0 CD will be released in about 4- 6 weeks and just like Volume 1.0, it's got some really great stuff on it! And, of course, there's this Saturday night...

Niagara Rhythm Section featuring really great guests you've probably never heard of...

The Anchorage, 186 Ricardo St., Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON, 905-468-2141

Every Saturday night - 9:45ish -

No cover.

This week: SAT., AUG.9th: Martin Alex Aucoin and Paul Martin

This week we welcome back Martin Alex Aucoin and Paul Martin. These guys have serious credentials. Chances are pretty good that you have never heard of Martin Alex Aucoin (unless you've seen him here at the Anchorage). He’s an accomplished pianist and vocalist, composer, arranger and producer, who has made his living for years as a side and session man in places like Nashville and Toronto. He's got a new CD titled, So Far. Check it out at: http://cdbaby.com/cd/martinalexaucoin

"Man, he can, outright, play" is what you hear about Martin Aucoin. He doesn’t just play, he lets you hear what he’s saying. Martin has played keyboards in numerous bands around Toronto, including Johnny Max, Morgan Davis, and Jack DeKeyzer, before moving to Nashville in 1990. He then toured with BJ Thomas for a year and a half. He also played on recording sessions for George Strait, Garth Brooks, Confederate Railroad, and John Michael Montgomery. He has played live with Larry Carlton, Tony Joe White, Bo Diddley, Ricky Van Shelton, Alan Jackson, Alex Harvey, the Drifters, Mark O'Connor, as well as having a four-year gig at the Grand Ole Opry with Jimmy C. Newman, the great Cajun singer. Despite all that, he's a real down to earth guy and we have a ball every time he's here.

Paul Martin is also going to be here with us on Saturday. Known for his work in The Blushing Brides and The Dylan Tree, he's been in numerous bands over the years. He always wows us with his superb guitar playing, great singing and a huge library of classic rock tunes you forgot you ever knew.
