Experience music, dance and to see the community murals being created by The Members of the Peace and Diversity group with the support of artists from the Brantford Arts Block. This Mural Project has evolved through the spirit of creating opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to work together, learn about each other and learn from each other. With the support of the Brantford Art's Block this project will also provide our local artists an opportunity to share their talents and expertise. Our goal is to create a stronger community through dialogue; artistic expression and by empowering citizens to celebrate diversity, practice equity, and contribute to a safe environment for everyone. The event features musical acts The Breaking Wind, Two Year Toque, and Ben Doerkson as well as multi cultural dancing and interactive visual arts projects. Until July 26, 2009 Opening reception: Friday June 19 @ 7 pm Curated by Brigitte Huard "The average person measure approximately seven-and-a-half heads in height." This is something every art student will hear early in their studies as they learn about the proportions of the human figure. Seven-and-a-Half Heads will showcase a selection of figurative works from the Gallery's permanent collection. The human figure is used in drawing, painting, print media, sculpture, cartooning, illustration and performance. This exhibition will explore various approaches to portraying the figure in order to examine the educational impact of working with it through live models, photographic references, imagination and memory.

H a m i l t o n F r i n g e F e s t i v a lA 10-day theatre extravaganza running from July 16 - 26th. This year's edition has attracted 28 companies from across Canada and the US to bring us their newest shows to Hamilton. The works range from polished to punchy, dramatic to disastrous. A total of 196 performances of comedy, spoken word, musicals, dance, drama, and even a magic show will be offered to our patrons. Tickets are cheap, and 100% of the admission cost goes straight to the artists. The Fringe Festival takes place in downtown Hamilton. This year the Festival will have four theatre locations in the core including Theatre Aquarius' Studio Theatre at 190 King William Street, the B.O.M. venue located on James at King atop Jackson Square, Pepper Jack's Café at 38 King William Street and the Hamilton Theatre Inc. located at 140 MacNab Street North.
