THE PUBLIC GOOD RELEASES NO. 1 CD

Dear Culture Enthusiasts and Wise Observers of Local Events:

I hope you'll agree with me that it really is time for The Public Good.

For your convenience I am attaching the link to the electronic press kit for “No. 1,” the first release from Washington, DC’s The Public Good. The Public Good is led by songwriters John Elderkin and Steve Ruppenthal, who were also the nucleus of North Carolina’s now legendary The Popes – one of the most acclaimed bands to emerge from the 90s Chapel Hill music scene.

The Public Good’s “No. 1” was produced by Brian Paulson (well known for his work with Wilco, Beck, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Polvo, Superchunk, and others). It is on the Lost Lyrics label.

The disc’s official release date will be August 1 of this year, and it will be widely available online.

What has always separated Elderkin and Ruppenthal’s songs from the pack is their ability to rock the house in their own style while singing with humor, originality, and empathy about the foibles and pleasures of everyday life. When one of their songs cranks up, you know it’s them right away.

Thank you for your consideration. For more information on the band and the disc please visit us at:

We will happily send you a copy of the disc for review if you prefer that to the electronic format; just let us know where to send it!

Most Sincerely,

Robert Hornsby
