| | | | Seattle's First Blues Fest! Buy a three day pass and get 30% off | | Eric Bibb w/Daddy Treetops Thursday July 9 7:30PM $24 adv/$27 day of
Our festival kicks off with Eric Bibb, one of the blues' great storytellers and troubadours. Eric plays his acoustic guitar in a uniquely spiritual way. A performance by Eric Bibb is an enriching experience ?" both musically and spiritually. Purveying a beautifully realised and deftly accomplished, soulful and gospel infused, folk- blues, Eric has no problem melding a traditional rootsy American style with a subtle contemporary sensibility. As one critic wrote ?o Eric?Ts singing and versatile guitar playing fuses a variety of genres to become a New World Blues?.
First on the bill is Daddy Treetops - playing National Steel guitar and performing a short opening set of early traditional blues, with Jon Parry accompanying on fiddle. | | | Son Jack Jr & Kim Field and The Mighty Titans Of Tone Friday July 10 8PM $15 adv/$18 day of
Come experience the feel of authentic juke joint blues with Son Jack Jr's Delta Hothouse! This is some heavy blues - think gritty, earthy delta and Hill Country Blues. The music is so spooky it caused one critic to claim, "...he makes you shiver. His beautiful voice, his perfectly timed licks and his never ceasing love for the Mississippi Delta amaze me."
Fronted by Kim Field, the Mighty Titans Of Tone are a force. Focusing not only on blues, but also R&B, this band features the unsurpassed harp chops of Kim Field, a respected authority on that very subject!
?oThe finest blues harmonica player in the Northwest??"the Seattle Times
?oSome of the smoothest harmonica work you will ever hear??"Option magazine | | | Too Slim & The Taildraggers Saturday July 11 8PM $18 adv/$20 day of
Tim ?oToo Slim? Langford, with his band the Taildraggers, have created an eclectic style of Roots-Rock, Americana, and Blues, that has become a genre all its own. Some folks have claimed them to be a combination of Tom Petty, Creedence and ZZ Top. Perhaps swampy Americana is closer to this down- and-gritty hard blues trio's sound. Their latest release "Free Your Mind" has spent weeks on the Billboard blues charts.
Jim Suhler & Monkey Beat have been Blasting out Texas blues/rock for over 17 years. Jim's also been playing as a guitarist with George Thorogood and the Destroyers, with whom he's recorded, toured and written songs for over nine years.
Opener Sam Marshall and his progessive acoustic blues will show you why he is considered a master of the country blues. Simply put, he is incredible. | | | | |
