DAWG FM STILL LOOKING FOR A HOME FREQUENCY

Hi, Blues Fans.

Here’s an update on our latest hearing in front of the CRTC

DAWG had its day in court....again. The hearing on Friday went well. Here is a link to another Ottawa Citizen article.

Now the CRTC has to decide who gets assigned to which frequency. We made a strong case that we should stay on 101.9 because we've invested hundreds of thousands of dollars already in that frequency.

But Astral and RCFO are working together to try to push us onto 94.5. That way Astral will have control over our signal strength and ability to expand our reach.

We have started a campaign to remind federal politicians that we've done everything right, followed the rules, received this licence fair and square and that we should not be further penalized by getting thrown onto another frequency and having to start the station build from square one, further delaying our launch.

We will let you know when Bluesincanada.com has the petition ready for you to send.

The decision will not be made by the CRTC for another 3 months at least. The transcript, if you are interested, is online at http://crtc.gc.ca/eng/transcripts/2009/tb0612.html.
