AWOL Gallery is seeking submissions for Toronto's
most anticipated summer group show
The 7th Annual Original Square Foot Show
AWOL Gallery (Toronto, Canada) is planning The Square Foot Show 2009, an annual group exhibition of
hundreds of local, national and international artists working in all media.
The Square Foot Show is an excellent networking event and an opportunity for participating Artists
to gain exposure to collectors, curators, media, other artists, and the general public.
This is Square Foot's seventh year and the AWOL Collective is aiming to make the show bigger
and better than ever. Like 2007's & 2008's exhibition, we will hold The Square Foot Show
at an off site venue; The Lower Ossington Theatre (LOT) at 100A Ossington. This larger venue
accommodates both the numerous artworks and the hundreds of people who come to view this
exhibit every year. In 2008 over 600 artists participated and exhibited over 1300 pieces.
Join us for Square Foot 2009 and help us celebrate AWOL Gallery's 10th Anniversary
and make this the most memorable Square Foot Show to date.
Although our RSVP deadline is firm, there is no limit to the number of participating artists,
so forward this message to any artists that you feel may be interested in taking part.

To RSVP please send a completed/signed contract (attached) with the submission
fee of $15.00 CAN payable in cheque or money order to:

RSVP Deadline: Wednesday, July 15th, 2009
Criteria:
- All artwork must be exactly 12" x 12" inches (the outer dimension of the piece, framed or
unframed) and no more than 5 inches thick.
- Work cannot be hung on an angle, so plan your work to be level.
(If the pieces do not meet the dimensional criteria, they will not be shown.)
- Up to three (3) pieces can be submitted
- $15.00 submission fee per artist, payable in cheque or money order. Please do not send
cash by mail.
- Each artist participating in the square foot show must register independently, no group
registrations/submissions please.
- Artist's Name on contract should match artist name on Artwork.
Artwork Drop off and delivery dates
Tuesday August 4th, 5 - 9 pm
Saturday August 8th, 2pm - 6 pm.
Work can be hand delivered to AWOL Gallery, 78 Ossington Ave., Toronto
August 6th is when work being mailed or couriered must be received by this date.
(if mailing art works you must include sufficient return postage for unsold work)

Juried Awards:
Best in show a $200.00 award, and two Honorable Mention awards of $100.00
will be announced after the first week of the exhibition.
The winners will be determined by a jury selected by the AWOL Collective.
Show Dates: Saturday August 15 - September 6, 2009
Collectors & Press Gala night preview: Friday, August 14th, 7pm
Tickets for the Gala Night preview will be on sale starting July 5th.
Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to ISIS Canada
Artists Reception: Saturday August 15, 2009, 7pm
Gallery Hours: Thursday _ Saturday 12 _ 6 pm & Sunday 1 _ 5 pm.
